As a distinguished authority in his field, Dr. Franklin serves as one of the founding members and Chief Medical Officer for RFE Pharma. Furthermore, he has held advisory roles within ophthalmic pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis, Alcon, Eyetech, Pfizer and QLT among others. His pioneering research on an anti-vascular agent intended to treat diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration was honored with the best research project award at the AUPO meeting - truly remarkable.

After successfully graduating from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in 1990, he achieved his residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. During that time, he also became a chief resident before continuing on to complete his fellowship at the esteemed University of Iowa located in Iowa City. He is further distinguished by boasting a doctorate degree acquired from Vanderbilt's Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics within Nashville Tennessee.

Dr. Franklin is a proud member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, which has over 3,000 members in 59 countries and all 50 US states—including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. His credentials are also verified by the trustworthy American Board of Ophthalmology; an admirable non-profit organization that certifies ophthalmologists nationwide.
