Dr. Arthur De Luigi, DO, MHA

Dr. Arthur Jason De Luigi is a highly accomplished physician and academic, currently serving as the Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Director of Sports Medicine for the Mayo Clinic Arizona. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Brain Injury Medicine, Pain Medicine, and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. Before joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. De Luigi established an ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/NRH, the MedStar NRH Interventional Spine Center, and MedStar Sports Medicine in the Washington Region. He also served as the Program Director of the PM&R Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center/National Capital Consortium and the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at MGUH/NRH. During his military service, Dr. De Luigi deployed twice to Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Battalion Surgeon.

Dr. De Luigi has extensive experience in sports medicine and has served as Head Team Physician for multiple professional sports teams, local high schools, and disabled athletes. He also has a prominent role in concussion work groups and running medicine, serving as Medical Director of the Army Ten Miler, Co-Medical Director of the Salt Lake Marathon, and Racing The Planet Atacama Desert and Gobi Desert Races. He also served as a physician for United States Olympic Committee, U.S. Ski and Snowboarding Association, USA Basketball, USA Boxing, USA Lacrosse, the University of Utah (Football, Basketball, Hockey, Rugby), and Salt Lake Bees baseball team (Los Angeles Angels AAA affiliate).

Dr. De Luigi holds academic appointments as a Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He also serves as the Editor-In-Chief for Alternative & Integrative Medicine.
