After graduating from the University of Miami, Florida with an undergraduate degree, esteemed dental surgeon Dr. Emilio Canal Jr., was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1990 at Georgetown University School of Dentistry and received the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society Award for Excellence in Clinical Achievement.
Dr. Canal has earned esteemed recognition throughout his career as a sports dentist, such as being elected President of the Academy for Sports Dentistry twice in 1999 and 2009. He was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association in 1999 and heralded Top Dentist time after time by Washingtonian Magazine, Washington Checkbook Magazine, Virginia Living Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine. Moreover, Dr. Canal is an integral member of two highly regarded U.S sport committees - The U.S Lacrosse Sports Safety Committee and the U.S Soccer Federation Medical Advisory Committee
