Contact Lenses & Performance

3/11/2020

Contact lenses are available in all shapes and sizes, made out of various materials, and fitted to each individual's eyes.  The correct contact lens that is properly fitted to you, your sport, and other physically demanding activities can drastically improve your performance. Conversely, the wrong prescription, lens, or fitting can lead deceased performance and safety.  Anyone involved in sports should visit an eye doctor to find out how contact lenses ca improve their performance.

Below, Dr. Smithson tells us how he uses contact lenses in his practice to help his athletes reach their peak performance.
Questions or comments about contact lenses? You can post questions to Dr. Smithson and other SV professionals online by joining our Community Forums (Membership is free -  click here to find out more).

Before using any kind of contact lens while playing sports, you should consult your local eye doctor to determine what type of contact lenses are right for your athlete and sport.
